Methodology

Sample

In order to study the new immigrants is how to affect the New Zealand E-government; I will be taken with in Hamilton region as my sample area. This research will main focus on Chinese cultural context, it will take Chinese students in University of Waikato. Especially Chinese students, who graduated form the shortage of the bachelor of computer science, computer graphic design and bachelor of e-commerce. In this particular research, selecting their main reason is that most of graduate Chinese students are applying to immigrant to New Zealand. Moreover, the other reason is convenience for collect the data and analysis in this research. For this research I obtained 50 Chinese students form the age between 19 – 30 and gender of male and female. Finally, the convenience sample would help me to collect information and analysis data in this research.

Research design /Measurement of variables/ Procedure/ Data analysis

For a study on the impacts of Chinese immigrants on New Zealand e-government, I would focus on the interviews was held throughout University of Waikato in Hamilton region. The purpose of interviews of Chinese students was obtaining the views of different people, and in order to find out the impacts of Chinese new immigrants on New Zealand e-government adoption and use. In this research design, I will make interviews with 50 Chinese students about what government information they wanted to seek, which government services they used or are they trust the New Zealand e-government and so on. In general, I will discuss these issues with my participants. The limitation of this research design would be time consuming and too complex for researcher. According to the above the model, while inheriting the measurement scales of usefulness and ease of use from Davis’ original work (Davis et al., 1989). Guo, chen and Chau (2009) considering the characteristic of Harmonious in the Chinese culture, they developed the research model, put perceived fit in research model. This model contains three independent variables, there are perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and perceived fit. To test these variables, I would ask my participants some questions in interviews. Such as, what government information and services to use? How to gain benefits form the New Zealand e-government? Have you used the NZ government websites? In general, I would ask my participants some questions like these questions. I would make interviews for the Chinese students in University of Waikato. The whole of interviews is face to face, the main purpose is a better understanding of these Chinese students, it convenient for collect my required information, better than questionnaires design, which is more accurately and fast get the data. Finally, I would write down their all answers in my notebook, and then according to their questions answers would analyze the data. For my study, the interview method to collect data, it would be time consuming and costly, it also needed good communication skills to enable participants to finish the interview, to get them interested in e-government.
